MAG & WAG Senior State Championships

We welcomed over 300 gymnasts from 40 clubs to our MAG & WAG Senior State Championships. Held at the Sleeman Sports Complex between 11-14 April, the event showcased Queensland’s most senior athletes from Levels 7-10, Junior International and Senior International.

The four days of competition were full of high-energy performances, with the Premium Session being the most spectacular.

The Premium Session attracted a full house of spectators ready to cheer on the 2018 Commonwealth, Senior and Junior athletes.

It was a close competition for our WAG gymnasts in the Premium Session.

Georgia-Rose Brown from Premier Gymnastics/ Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre won gold with an all-around score of 53.850.



Georgia Godwin from Delta Gymnastics narrowly missed out on first place with a score of 52.050. Georgia successfully cemented her comeback from injury by taking second place.


 
In third, Kate Sayer from Robertson Gymnastics Centre/ Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre won bronze with an all-around score of 38.350.



The Premium Session for MAG saw 2018 Commonwealth athlete, Michael Tone from Gold Coast Gymnastics/ Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre steal the show. With an all-around score of 80.732 placing him first.



Hudson Irwin from Super Performance Centre/ Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre won silver with an all-around score of 75.581.

And David Tanner from Super Performance Centre/ Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre placed third with an all-around score of 74.198.
